The frozen pizza section in Wisconsin store goes on. And on. And on. See for yourself
There’s just something about those long walks through the frozen pizza aisle.
It’s a little bit chilly, and you’re surrounded by cheesy — yet saucy — entrees calling your name, simply waiting to be heated up at home.
But if you haven’t strolled through the frozen pizza section at this Wisconsin grocery store, then you might not realize what you have been missing.
We’re talking a seemingly endless supply of frozen pizzas. Wall-to-wall coverage, then right when you think you’ve seen them all, take a turn and find even more deep freezers filled with your next potential meal.
Seeing is believing, and that’s likely why Twitter users can’t get enough of a minute-long video showcasing the abundance of frozen pizzas.
In one week, this video shared by Michael Bradley, of Milwaukee, has been seen over 6 million times.
“A frozen pizza section in Wisconsin,” he said when tweeting the video on Oct. 12. It’s now his most-seen tweet ever.
The video appears to show Woodman’s Food Market, as reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and identified by many Twitter users.
It piqued the attention of many awe-struck viewers.
“Wait what… why so many?” one person asked.
“What the hecks is going on?” said another. “Wisconsin, I have questions.”
Others, though, had no idea this cheesy, frozen goodness wasn’t exactly, um, ordinary.
“What, this isn’t normal?” one Twitter user asked.
Two days after sharing the video, Bradley said he “can’t believe how many wisconsinites have been walking around a quarter-acre of frozen pizza in their grocery stores thinking that’s a normal condition.”
Wisconsin was described as a “frozen pizza kingdom” by the Appleton Post-Crescent in 2019, as popular brands including DiGiorno, Jack’s and Tombstone are made in The Badger State.
“And Wisconsinites have a big appetite for frozen ‘za,” the newspaper reported at the time. “Chris Zelch, a director of product development for Nestle’s frozen pizzas division, says Wisconsin is the largest per capita pizza consumer in the United States.”
