Group claims Cerner is in top ten of state, local subsidy recipients

A liberal group called

Good Jobs First has compiled a list of corporations

it says has received $110 billion in state and local incentives for business construction and expansion.

The group says

Cerner

is 10th on the list, with more than $1.7 billion in grants and subsidies from Kansas and Missouri and their municipalities.

Other local companies include

Berkshire Hathaway

, which owns the

Nebraska Furniture Mart

, at a little more than $1 billion;

General Motors

, which owns the Fairfax plant, at $3.5 billion; and

Ford

, at $2.5 billion.

H R Block

is also on the list, at number 53. The group says Block has taken nine subsidies worth a combined $341 million from state and local governments.
