from the Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling has determined. The highlights:
• Davis, the House minority leader from Lawrence, leads Brownback 42-40 percent.
• Brownback’s job approval has dipped to a lowly 33 percent while 51 percent disapprove.
• Davis is getting support from 23 percent of Republicans (presumably moderates).
Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts, meantime, has seen declines in his job approval, too. The survey found that only 29 percent of voters approve of him compared to 38 percent who disapprove.
The poll showed that Roberts has a big 49-23 percent lead over primary opponent, Milton Wolf. But the survey also found that only 24 percent of Republican voters are familiar with Wolf, meaning he might be able to make inroads once Kansans become more familiar with him.
