Kansas City police investigate fatal shooting on Flora Avenue

Kansas City police investigated a shooting Tuesday night that left a man dead at a home in the 3500 block of Flora Avenue.

Officers were called to the home about 10 p.m. on a report of gunshots and found a man in his 50s lying dead on the front porch.

Police took a relative who was at the home into custody. The relative was taken to a hospital because of a medical condition.

The investigation continued.

The homicide was the 44th in Kansas City this year and the 69th in the Kansas City area.
