Body found in Kansas City, Kan., house is identified by police

Police on Monday identified the body found in a Kansas City, Kan., house as Joseph C. Lucas II, 34, of Dodge City, Kan.

Police found Lucas’ body about 11 a.m. Thursday in a vacant house that had been classified as unfit for habitation. His body was under a bed on the second floor.

Police are investigating his death as a homicide, which would be the 11th this year in Kansas City, Kan. There have been 51 homicides in the Kansas City area so far this year.
