Police investigate homicide in Kansas City’s Northeast area

Police responding to a call Sunday evening found the body of a man in Kansas City’s Northeast area.

Officers found the victim’s body lying near a sidewalk in the 300 block of North Drury Avenue shortly after 5 p.m.

The man, who was in his 20s, appeared to have been shot, police said. He was declared dead at the scene.

Police were trying to determine if the man lived in the area.

This is Kansas City’s 31st and the area’s 51st homicide of the year.
