Kansas City man shot to death at his front door is identified

A man fatally shot Monday night in Kansas City has been identified as 30-year-old Richard A. Cushingberry.

Police said Cushingberry was shot as he answered the front door of his home in the 5000 block of Fairway Drive.

He was taken to a hospital, where he died early Tuesday. His death is the city’s 27th homicide of the year.
