Police identify woman found slain in Kansas City

Kansas City police identified a woman found shot to death Tuesday evening in the 2600 block of Denver Avenue as Kimberly M. Miles.

Officers summoned to a residence shortly after 6 p.m. found the body in the yard behind the home, which appeared to be vacant, police said.

Miles, who also went by the name Kimber, would have turned 27 on Wednesday. Her death was the city’s 24th homicide of the year.

No arrests have been made.
