Excelsior Springs woman is sentenced in 2013 murder of KCK man
A 32-year-old woman was sentenced Thursday to 30 years in prison for the June 2013 murder of a man at his Kansas City, Kan., home.
Natasha Tone-Pah-Hote of Excelsior Springs had pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in December. She was accused of stabbing to death 60-year-old Richard Vertz Jr. at his home in the 2300 block of West 39th Avenue.
Police did not determine the death was a homicide until an autopsy revealed that Vertz had been stabbed to death.
