Pedestrian hurt in JoCo hit-and-run. Police seek driver of suspected Mercedes
A driver in what police believe was a Mercedes-Benz hit a pedestrian in a Prairie Village crosswalk earlier this month and fled. Police released photos of the car Thursday, hoping to identify the driver.
The pedestrian suffered minor injuries in the crash that occurred about 7:30 p.m. on June 1 near Shawnee Mission Parkway and Nall Avenue, Prairie Village Police said in a post on Facebook.
The car involved appears to have been a silver Mercedes-Benz with a temporary tag, police said in the post asking the public for help identifying both the vehicle and driver in their aggravated battery investigation.
The driver was headed south on Nall at high speeds. The car “continued to drive recklessly and struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk,” police said.
The sedan sustained obvious damage to the rear, passenger-side fender, police said.
Anyone who recognizes the vehicle or has information on the hit-and-run crash is asked to contact Detective LaShaya Folvarcik of the Prairie Village Police Department at 913-385-4657 or lfolvarcik@prairievillageks.gov.
