Police find 2 people shot to death after domestic dispute in Kansas City, Kansas

Update: Police identified the deceased as Ingris Carolina Damas Morales, 20, and Josue Avila-Carcamo, 43.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department is investigating a shooting that killed two people Saturday.

Officers responded around 11:45 a.m. to the 1000 block of Orville Avenue for a reported shooting. When they arrived, officers found three people with gunshot wounds inside a home.

Two people, one man and one woman, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Nancy Chartrand, a police spokeswoman.

Another man was taken to a hospital with injuries police believed to be not life-threatening.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a domestic dispute escalated to gunfire and the three individuals being shot.

Chartrand said in an email that KCK Police were not looking for suspects Saturday.

The shooting marks the first and second homicides of Kansas City, Kansas, this year, according to data maintained by The Star.
