One person stabbed to death in Kansas City, Kansas, police say

One person was killed in a stabbing Thursday evening in Kansas City, Kansas, police said.

Officers with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department responded just after 7 p.m. on a call about a stabbing in the 6500 block of Kansas Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a man with apparent stab wounds, according to a press release. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

In the news release, KCKPD said those who police believe to have been involved in the stabbing remained at the scene and were cooperating with investigators.

The killing has been classified a homicide by KCKPD and an investigation into the man’s death is ongoing.

Police have not yet publicly identified the man who was killed.
