2 teens injured, one critically, in double shooting in Ruskin Heights area of south KC
Two teens were taken the hospital after being wounded in a double shooting Friday morning in the Ruskin Heights area of south Kansas City, a police spokesman said.
One of the victims, a girl, suffered life-threatening injuries and was in critical condition at a hospital, said Phil DiMartino with the Kansas City Police Department. The other victim, a boy, had non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers responded shortly before 10 a.m. to a reported shooting in the 12000 block of Bristol Terrace, DiMartino said. There, officers found the boy and girl who had been shot.
Detectives were working to determine the circumstances that lead up to the shooting.
No motive or suspect information was released.
