Woman dies in hospital after being shot in Raytown on Sunday, police say

A woman died following a shooting in Raytown.

Officers responded around 6:20 p.m. Sunday to the 8400 block of Greenwood Road, where they found a woman who had been shot, according to Officer Haley VanBibber, a spokesperson for the Raytown Police Department.

The woman was transported to a hospital, where she died.

The killing was the second homicide in Raytown this year, according to data tracked by The Star.

Police do not have anyone in custody, and their investigation is ongoing.
