KCK police investigate shooting after man dies at hospital from injuries

One man died at a hospital after a shooting in Kansas City, Kansas, police said.

Officers responded just before 1 p.m. March 21 to the 200 block of Southwest Boulevard on reports of someone needing medical attention. Police found a man they later identified as 49-year-old Lyle Garrett, of Kansas City, Kansas, with a single gunshot wound.

Garrett was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries on March 22. KCK police are investigating what led to the shooting. No other information about the incident was provided.
