Kansas City, Kansas police are investigating a shooting that left one person with life-threatening injuries Thursday.

Police were called to the 200 block of Southwest Boulevard around 1 p.m. on reports that someone needed medical attention, Officer Jovanna Cheatum of KCKPD said in a statement Thursday evening. Officers arrived and found a man with a single gunshot wound. The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment and was in critical condition, Cheatum said.

No other details about the incident were released.
