Man and woman injured following double shooting in Independence Saturday evening

Two people were seriously injured following a double shooting Saturday night in Independence.

Officers responded around 6 p.m. to a business at 42nd Terrace and Noland Road, where they found a man and woman who had been shot outside, according to a news release from the Independence Police Department.

Police believe the man and woman were involved in a disturbance with the suspect inside the business. The suspect left before officers arrived.
