61-year-old man reported missing Tuesday from Kansas City is found safe: Police

Update: Police said Tuesday evening that Barry Fears was found safe.

Kansas City police are asking the public for help to locate a 61-year-old man reported missing late Tuesday morning.

The missing man, Barry Fears, was last seen around 10:20 a.m. boarding a city bus near the Kansas City VA Medical Center at 4801 Linwood Blvd., according to police.

Police said Fears needs immediate medical care.

Fears is described as a Black man who stands at 5-foot-9 and weighs about 215 pounds. He was wearing a tan hat, gray shirt, tan pants, green socks and black shoes when he was last seen, police said. He was also carrying a black satchel.

Kansas City police ask that anyone who locates Fears call 911 immediately.
