A Kansas City woman hired a photographer to capture memories during her wedding last month, from the moment her father saw her in her dress to the church nuptials and a reception in the West Bottoms.

But those moments were taken away when the photographer’s equipment was stolen the next day at Loose Park.

Blakely Swanson Clement married her high school sweetheart on May 14. A photographer they hired from St. Louis had come to Kansas City to shoot the event.

The day after the wedding, the photographer scheduled a photo shoot with a different couple at Loose Park. But while taking photos, a thief broke into the photographer’s vehicle and stole a MacBook Pro and memory card containing photos of Swanson Clement’s wedding.

Swanson Clement said she only has a few photos taken by friends and family on their cellphones.

“I wanted to live in the moment and put my phone away that day,” Swanson Clement said in a news release from Kansas City police. “I was never thinking I needed to make sure I had photos of me and my parents.”

Investigators with the Kansas City Police Department have determined that images from a second wedding were also on the computer that was stolen. Swanson Clement is asking the public to call police if they see the stolen equipment.

“We’ve been looking forward to reliving that wonderful day and to get the pictures back would mean everything to us, our parents, and our grandparents,” she said.

The laptop’s serial number is SC02Z92U5LVDQ.

Anyone with information can contact the police department’s metro property crimes division at 816-581-0679.
