Kansas City police release photo of suspect car in hit-and-run that injured bicyclist

Kansas City police on Friday released a photograph and additional details of a car suspected in a hit-and-run Wednesday that left a bicyclist in critical condition.

The crash was reported about 1:12 a.m. near Independence and Manchester avenues, just west of Interstate 435, a Kansas City Police Department spokeswoman said in an emailed statement.

A man riding a bicycle on the Independence Avenue Bridge had been hit by a passing car, which then left the scene, police said. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The car likely has front end damage. It was seen before the crash in the area of Independence Avenue and Wilson Road, and after the crash heading north on I-435.
