Missouri man admits to uploading child porn to Dropbox, faces federal prison time

A Missouri man previously convicted of child sexual exploitation has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.

William Lockwood, 41, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of possessing child pornography while he was living in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister.

Lockwood now lives in Pleasant Valley, Missouri, according to the release.

Authorities began investigating Lockwood after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip from Dropbox. This led law enforcement to seize 26 videos of child sexual abuse from Lockwood’s account.

He later admitted to uploading child pornography to a Dropbox account and giving other users access to it.

Lockwood was previously convicted of obscene communication for the purpose of luring a child for sex in 2012 in Collier County, Florida, according to the release.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 3. Lockwood likely faces 12 years in federal prison, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
