Overland Park man pleads guilty to possessing hundreds of images of child pornography
An Overland Park man has pleaded guilty to possessing hundreds of photos and dozens of videos of child porn, court record show.
Alan Noltensmeyer, 46, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of possessing child pornography, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister.
Noltensmeyer’s crimes were discovered as the FBI was investigating how people were using a software that allowed them to anonymously obtain and trade child pornography, according to the release.
After identifying Noltensmeyer’s IP address, investigators discovered about 2,400 photos and 152 videos of child pornography stored on an external hard drive and optic disc, according to the news release.
Noltensmeyer is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 3. He faces at least five years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000, according to the release.
