Woman killed in early Sunday morning shooting in Kansas City, police say

Kansas City police are investigating the shooting death of a woman found early Sunday morning at a home in the area of Gregory Boulevard and Bales Avenue, police said.

Officers responded to a shooting call around 4 a.m. When they arrived, they found the victim who was pronounced dead at the scene, said police spokesman Capt. Dave Jackson in an email.

The name and age of the victim have not been released. Details of what led to the shooting were not immediately available.

Homicide detectives were at the crime scene gathering evidence and attempting to find witnesses.
