Former Kansas City Chiefs player charged with stealing, burglary in 2019 purse theft

A former Kansas City Chiefs player, charged in November by federal prosecutors in a drug trafficking case, has been charged with burglary after allegedly taking purses from a property last year.

Cass County prosecutors in June charged Saousoalii “Junior” Siavii Jr., 41, with felony second degree burglary and a misdemeanor of stealing.

Siavii appeared in 26 games with the Chiefs in 2004-05 but never made a start. He later played for the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks. Before the NFL, Siavii played for the University of Oregon.

A warrant was issued for his arrest in June.

Prosecutors allege Siavii took two totes, with several purses inside, valued at more than $150.

On June 24, 2019, Siavii was seen looking through a shed on someone’s property in Belton. That witness confronted Siavii and told him to leave, according to court records. Siavii said, “OK.” The witness went back inside his home.

The witness then saw Siavii walk to the back of his home and grab two plastic storage totes from the shed before bringing the totes to the car that had parked in front of the witness’ home. The witness took a picture of the license plate before watching Siavii dump what was in the totes into the back of the car and place the totes inside the car.

The witness, according to court records, told Siavii he was trespassing. Siavii again responded, “OK.”

The witness later identified Siavii in a photo lineup.

No attorney was listed for him in online court records.

In October, Siavii was charged in Jackson County with felonies of second degree attempted burglary and unlawful use of a weapon.

In November, Siavii was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess methamphetamine and possession of a firearm.
