Two suspected grenades found in terminated employee’s locker in Kansas City, Kansas

Police are investigating after two suspected grenades were found at a Kansas City, Kansas, business, police said.

Police received a call from a business in the 1000 block of South Packard Street saying that two grenades had been found inside a locker of an employee that had been terminated, Kansas City, Kansas, police said on Twitter.

Responding officers confirmed that two suspected grenades had been found and called in the department’s explosive ordinance disposal unit.

Although police have not identified the business involved, Advantage Metals Recycling, at 1015 S. Packard Street, is the only business with an address in that block.

Police continue to investigate the incident. Because of the ongoing investigation, a police spokeswoman said no additional details could be released at this time.

“We can say that anytime a potentially explosive device is discovered, individuals should not attempt to move, touch or initiate contact with the device, rather they should immediately call 911 to report so that trained professionals may be dispatched,” said Nancy Chartrand, public information officer for the Kansas City, Kansas, police.
