920 crimes reported in KC during the last week of June. How many were near you?
More than 900 crimes were reported during the last week of June in Kansas City, with domestic violence-related cases accounting for slightly more than 15% of them, according to a Kansas City Star crime map created with data released by the city.
From June 28 through July 4, police received reports of 98 non-aggravated domestic violence assaults, the most frequent crime reported for that week. Police also received reports of 37 aggravated domestic violence assaults. as well as two burglaries and four property damage related to domestic violence, according to the data.
The second most reported crime during that week was aggravated assaults at 94 cases. The other top reported crimes included 78 assaults, 72 property damage and 65 stolen autos.
There were 163 reports of stealing, including 58 incidents of thefts from auto, 29 shoplifting and 24 thefts from a building.
In total, there were 920 crimes reported for the week.
