Triple shooting leaves 1 dead, 2 injured at East 27th Street and Jackson Avenue: KCPD

One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting near the intersection of East 27th Street and Jackson Avenue Wednesday afternoon, Kansas City police said.

Police responded to the scene just before 4 p.m. where officers found three shooting victims, one man and two women, in a gray car.

The man died at the scene, police said.

The two female victims were in critical condition and taken to a hospital.

Police do not yet have suspect information or a motive for the shooting. No witnesses have been identified yet, police said.

Some citizens nearby tried to render aid to the victims after the shooting, police said, but they did not see what unfolded. The victims were all found shot in the vehicle, but it is unclear if it was parked or moving during the shooting.

Kansas City is now at 87 homicides this year so far compared to 61 by this time last year, according to data kept by The Star.
