Kansas City police search for 5 suspects after police car set on fire during protests

Kansas City police on Wednesday asked for help identifying five men suspected in the arson of a police car during the second night of protests at the Country Club Plaza.

The Kansas City Police Department said that the men, all seen wearing face masks or coverings, are suspects in the arson of the vehicle at about 10 p.m. May 30.

A fire truck responded to the scene as Kansas City police used tear gas in attempts to disperse crowds. Earlier that evening, Gov. Mike Parson had declared a state of emergency due to civil unrest.

Anyone with information can call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
