Driver arrested after striking two pedestrians, killing 68-year-old Kansas City man

A man was killed and a woman injured Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle on the east side of Kansas City.

A westbound Cadillac sedan struck a man before turning southbound and striking a woman at East 30th and York streets about 7:20 p.m., according to the Kansas City Police Department. The vehicle then crashed into a yard in the 3000 block of York.

Responding police officers arrested the driver.

One victim, a 68-year-old Kansas City man, died at the scene. The female victim was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
