Suspicious death of a man found in Riverside is being investigated as a homicide

Riverside police are investigating the suspicious death of a man whose body was found in a wooded area in the 4300 block of Northwest Tullison Road as a homicide.

Authorities have identified the victim as Conrado “Conrad” Mendez. Police were summoned to the area at 8:30 a.m. Thursday to investigate a possible dead body, police said.

Mendez was found in a small wooded area just off the roadway. The cause of death has not been released. Police did not release any suspect information.

The Kansas City Metro Squad is assisting Riverside police with the investigation.

The Metro Squad is a group of detectives that are assembled from surrounding law enforcement agencies to aid smaller agencies like Riverside investigate certain crimes when a suspect is not immediately taken into custody.
