Police seek help identifying armed man who robbed Overland Park Minit Mart
Police have asked for help identifying a man who pointed a handgun at a clerk during a robbery late Saturday at a convenience store in south Overland Park.
The robbery occurred about 9 p.m. at the Minit Mart store near West 151st and Hardy streets, according to a news release Sunday from the Overland Park Police Department.
The man entered the store and pointed a handgun at the clerk, demanding money from the register. The man then fled the store, running west with an undetermined amount of money, police said.
A complete description of the robber was not available. Police, however, described him as being between 5-feet-6-inches and 5-feet-9-inches tall. He was wearing jeans, a hooded-sweatshirt and a red and black jacket over the hoodie. Police released a surveillance photo of the man as he fled from the store in the hope someone would recognize the man.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Overland Park police at 913-895-6300 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
