1 person killed, another injured in overnight shooting in Kansas City, Kansas

A man died and a woman was injured in a shooting late Tuesday night in Kansas City, Kansas, police said.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Ray Avenue just before 10 p.m. to investigate shots being fired.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a man dead and a woman injured inside a vehicle, police said.

The man, who had been fatally shot, was later identified by police as Tommie Collins. He was a Kansas City, Kansas, resident.

The woman was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. She has since been released from the hospital.

Kansas City, Kansas, police said the shooting remained under investigation in a statement issued Wednesday.

No one has been arrested in connection to the incident.
