Man charged with murder in January shooting in Kansas City, Kansas

A 22-year-old man faces charges in Wyandotte County District Court for an early January shooting which killed one man.

Luis A. Salazar-Villeda, from Guatemala, was charged on Feb. 1st with first degree murder and criminal discharge of a weapon at an occupied building.

He is accused of shooting into a home in the 3000 block of 34th Street in Kansas City, Kansas, killing 21-year-old Luis Deras-Orellana.

Deras-Orellana died at the hospital on Jan. 5after he was found with several gunshot wounds early in the morning. Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots before police arrived.
