18-year-old found dead in front of KCK home. Police investigate homicide

An 18-year-old was found dead on the front porch of a Kansas City, Kansas, home following a reported shooting Friday night, police said.

The call came in around 7:30 p.m.

Police responded to the neighborhood in the 8000 block of Greeley Avenue, where they found the deceased teen. The victim’s identity has not been released pending family notification.

Officer Thomas Tomasic, a Kansas City, Kansas police spokesman, said it appeared the teen was further down the street and ran back to the house when the shooting occurred.

Police were going door to door in search of any witnesses or video capturing the incident.

The teen’s death marked the second homicide reported this year in Kansas City, Kansas, according to data kept by The Star.
