Death of 19-year-old at KCK home is being investigated as a homicide, police say

The death of a 19-year-old man this week in Kansas City, Kansas, is being investigated as a homicide, according to police.

According to a statement from Kansas City, Kansas, police, officers were called to the 2200 block of Franklin Avenue just after 4:30 p.m. Monday in reference to an unresponsive male.

Arriving officers found the man dead inside the home.

The victim was identified by police as Angelo M. Ramirez, a Kansas City, Kansas, resident.

Upon further investigation, Ramirez was found to be shot, said Officer Abigail Fithian, a police spokesperson. The police department then announced on Wednesday that the death was being investigated as a homicide.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Major Case Unit is leading the investigation.
