Kansas City police investigate homicide at 24th and Quincy
A 28-year-old man was fatally shot Monday evening and Kansas City police are investigating the death as a homicide.
The shooting was reported just before 7 p.m. at 24th and Quincy streets. When officers arrived, they found the man lying on a sidewalk with gunshot injuries, said Capt. Tim Hernandez, a Kansas City Police Department spokesman.
The victim was transported to a hospital where he died.
Police on Tuesday identified the victim as Damon Copes.
“We don’t have any suspect or vehicle information,” Hernandez said.
Detectives and the crime scene unit were expected to work through the night.
