Juvenile shoots adult relative, kills self Tuesday night at KCK home, police say

Police think a juvenile died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday night after allegedly shooting a 28-year-old relative multiple times at a Kansas City, Kan., home.

The adult victim’s wounds were serious but not life-threatening, police said Wednesday.

Officers responded to the scene for a reported shooting about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of North 85th Street. The adult victim had run to a nearby home to get help, according to Kansas City, Kan., police spokesman Officer Zac Blair.

The investigation was still in its preliminary stages Wednesday, Blair said.
