Man found dead inside SUV identified as 30-year-old KCK resident

Kansas City, Kan., police have identified a man who was found dead inside a vehicle late Thursday.

Police said Darnel Wright, 30, of Kansas City, Kan., died from a gunshot wound.

Officers found Wright's body after responding to a call of shots fired 10:45 p.m. in the 100 block of New Jersey Avenue.

Police said they located an SUV in the woods nearby, approached the vehicle and found Wright.

Police are investigating his death as a homicide.
