The group KC Mothers in Charge said it would hold a vigil at 3 p.m. Saturday in Kansas City at the scene of a drive-by shooting that left 26-year-old Ronald S. Washington dead.

His was the fifth murder of the year recorded in Kansas City, the group said.

The shooting in the 2700 block of Denver Avenue shortly before noon Sunday also left a woman critically injured.

Police found Washington mortally wounded in a white Dodge that had 16 bullet holes in the driver’s side door.
