KC police name 60-year-old man killed in hit-and-run at 37th and Prospect

Kansas City police have released the name of a 60-year-old pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday night on Prospect Avenue.

Michael Martin was found fatally injured near 37th Street and Prospect Avenue about 4:45 p.m. It appeared that he had been hit by a vehicle traveling north on Prospect and that the vehicle left the scene.

Martin was taken to a hospital where he died.

Police on Monday said they had located the driver and the vehicle that hit Martin. The investigation continued.

Martin was the third pedestrian hit by a vehicle and killed that weekend in Kansas City, and the second killed in a hit-and-run.
