Woman found stabbed to death on front porch of KCK house was 32

Police on Tuesday identified the woman found stabbed to death on the front porch as Megan N. Hernandez, 32, of Kansas City, Kan.

A relative of Hernandez found her about 2:30 p.m. Thursday on the porch of a house in the 900 bock of South Mill Street in Kansas City, Kan.

Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department and ambulance responded to the scene on what was initially being described as a medical call. Hernandez, however, was dead by the time emergency crews arrived.

Police began investigating her death as a homicide and developed leads to two “persons of interest.” But after police detained and questioned them, they were both released and no charges were pending.

The homicide continues to be investigated by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
