A man with a history of stealing cars has been charged with killing an 86-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man during a car theft.
Dominic McGee, 31, was charged by Wyandotte County prosecutors with first-degree murder in the Nov. 29 death of Frank Davila.
McGee also was charged in Wyandotte County District Court with a felony count of theft.
Davila, long-time owner of Frankie D’s Bar and Grill in Kansas City, Kan., was fatally injured while trying to stop someone from stealing his pickup truck in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue.
McGee was paroled from prison in May, according to Kansas Department of Corrections records.
He had multiple convictions for stealing vehicles in Wyandotte and Johnson counties, according to court records.
McGee also had a conviction in Platte County for possession of a controlled substance, records there show.
Kansas prison records list him as an absconder from parole.
