Man who took video up a woman’s skirt at local Walmart told police he just felt a need
A 55-year-old man admitted Wednesday that he used a cell phone to take an “up skirt” video of an unsuspecting women in a Leavenworth Walmart.
Thomas Edward Campbell, of Leavenworth, pleaded guilty to a charge of breach of privacy. Sentencing for Campbell is set for Nov. 1.
According to a statement from Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson, loss prevention officers at the store on 10th Avenue told police that Campbell had been spotted standing close behind the woman and holding a phone under her skirt.
He admitted to officers that he had recorded a few seconds of video. When asked why he did it, Campbell told them he just felt a need to do it, according to Thompson.
Laws in both Kansas and Missouri protect women from so-called “upskirt” photos.
A 67-year-old man was sentenced last week to 30 days of “shock time” in jail for trying to take pictures up a woman’s skirt inside an Overland Park grocery store.
