Police identify 19-year-old man fatally shot at 35th and Askew
Kansas City police have released the name of a man fatally shot Thursday at 35th Street and Askew Avenue.
Officers responding to a shooting reported about 9:35 p.m. found Brezelious Shackelford, 19,sprawled on the pavement with a gunshot wound. Emergency crews took Shackelford to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police had no suspect information.
Shackelford was the second of two men fatally shot Thursday about 30 minutes apart in different areas of Kansas City.
The first shooting was reported shortly before 9 p.m. near East 11th Street and Benton Boulevard. Police have not released the name of that victim.
