KC police identify woman killed in quadruple shooting

Police on Sunday were investigating a shooting that killed a woman and injured three other people near Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kansas City.

Police identified the victim as Maryanna Pennington, 25, of Kansas City.

Police found Pennington and three other gunshot victims shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday inside a vehicle near 21st Street and Cleveland Avenue.

Kansas City Fire Department personnel declared Pennington deceased. They rushed the three other victims to hospitals with critical injuries. An update on their conditions was not available Sunday.

Pennington’s death is Kansas City’s 106th homicide of the year. So far, there has been 170 homicides in the Kansas City area in 2016.
