Man killed outside Independence pharmacy identified

A man killed last week outside of an Independence pharmacy was identified Monday as 45-year-old James L. Hill.

Hill, of Independence, was shot late last Thursday night outside the Walgreens at 23rd Street and Sterling Avenue.

He was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Independence police said that after the shooting they arrested two possible suspects at a nearby apartment building.

But no charges have been filed and the killing remains under investigation.
