Man charged with attempted murder after suspected stabbing at Olathe park
A 27-year-old man is charged with attempted first-degree murder for his alleged involvement in a suspected stabbing at an Olathe park Thursday, court records show.
Kwan Noble Trezvant is charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder in Johnson County District Court.
Olathe police initally arrested Trezvant on suspicion of aggravated battery in connection with a suspected stabbing at Two Trails Park just after noon Thursday.
Officers responded to a report of an armed disturbance in the 1000 block of North Ridgeview Road, according to Sgt. John Moncayo, a police spokesman. They found a 38-year-old woman suffering from “a serious injury consistent with a stabbing,” Moncayo said.
Paramedics transported the woman to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Police have provided few details about what led to the alleged stabbing while the investigation is ongoing.
Moncayo said in an email Friday that Trezvant and the woman did not know each other. The woman is expected to survive her injuries, Moncayo said.
The Star has requested court records, including the police probable cause affidavit filed in connection with the attempted first-degree murder charge.
Trezvant’s first appearance in court is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, court records show.
