Olathe police arrested a 27-year-old man Thursday afternoon on suspicion of aggravated battery after he allegedly injured a woman in a suspected stabbing.

The incident, police said, happened near the 1000 block of North Ridgeview Road. Police were called to the area just after 12 p.m. Thursday.

“Officers responded to a report of an armed disturbance and found a 38-year-old woman suffering from a serious injury consistent with a stabbing,” Sgt. John Moncayo, of Olathe Police, said in a news release. “She was transported to an area hospital for treatment.”

It is not clear what led up to the aggravated battery, or if the two individuals know each other.
