A college freshman from Overland Park has died from injuries he sustained after falling from window at a fraternity house at Kansas State University in Manhattan, according to numerous new reports.

Jack Fleischaker, 19, fell from a second-story window of a fraternity house near the university campus, Riley County police told WIBW in Topeka.

The incident occurred early Saturday, according to WIBW.

Fleischaker was not expected to recover from his injuries, according to Gar Demo, Fleischaker’s pastor at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Overland Park, who wrote a letter about the incident to his parish Tuesday.

More than 300 people lined the hallways of Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka Wednesday for an honor walk as Fleischaker was transported for organ donation, Demo wrote.

Michelle Geering, spokesperson for Kansas State University, wrote in a statement Wednesday afternoon:

“The university has offered support to the family and has also offered assistance and student support resources to the fraternity members. We are reviewing available information to determine the next steps in accordance with our policies and procedures,” Geering wrote.

The Riley County Police Department told The Manhattan Mercury that there were no suspicions of foul play in Fleischaker’s death. The agency was investigating the incident, including possible alcohol influences, according to The Mercury.

A freshman accounting and finance major, Fleischaker was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, according to his LinkedIn and Instagram accounts.

The national Sigma Chi Instagram account commented on a friend’s Instagram tribute.

“All Honor To His Name 🤍”

The Riley County Police Department did not immediately respond to multiple requests for comment.

The Star filed a Kansas Open Records Act request for the police report of the incident, and had not received the documents as of Thursday morning.

The national Sigma Chi organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
