Do you or your neighbors have a pet without cold weather gear this winter?

“Project Pet Warmth” can help.

On Sunday, thanks to Kansas City area pet projects, community members can pick up free dog houses, food bowls, blankets, straw and food at the Linwood YMCA/James B. Nutter, Sr. Community Center at 3800 East Linwood Blvd.

Free personalized pet ID tags will also be available.

The KC Pet Project, Great Plains SPCA’s HERO Team, Humane Society of Greater Kansas City and Pet Resource Center of Kansas City are hosting the event.

Earlier this week, the KC Pet Project also brought cold weather supplies to pet owners at area houseless encampments through a project called Healthy Pets KC, which brings low-cost veterinary services to the pets of community members in need across the metro.
